Ginger Scallion Sauce

This ginger scallion sauce is so versatile it goes well with anything, well almost anything (except sweets or desserts, I guess). Eat it with grilled meat, seafood, toss it in noodles, rice, etc and your dish will immediately be elevated to another delectable level.

Restaurant Style Salsa Dip

Making this Restaurant-Style Salsa Dip is so ridiculously easy. If you own a food processor or blender, then there’s no reason for you not to make it. Oh, one ingredient below worth mentioning is the can of chipotle peppers in adobo sauce. If you are in living in South East Asia, most likely it is not very common to see that in our local grocery stores or supermarkets...

Balsamic Roasted Strawberries

I can’t believe I’ve missed making these Balsamic Roasted Strawberries most part of my life. Well, as they say - better late than never (who is they anyway??). Roasting strawberries not only releases their natural sweetness, it also intensifies the flavor and create that syrupy jammy goodness. The acidity in the balsamic vinegar lends a slight tang to create an overall sweet and tangy mouthfeel. These balsamic roasted strawberries are perfect to go with your ice-cream, in your yogurt, on top of your breakfast pancakes and even in cakes...

Homemade Guacamole

This homemade guacamole post almost did not make it to this page had it not been for my persistent 14-year old. Truth be told, I was reluctant and embarrassed. Oh, don’t get me wrong. This homemade guac is nothing but absolutely delicious and addictive. (If you are an avocado lover, you would know what I’m talking about. But if you are not, it’s never too late to try!) But because it is so ridiculously easy to prepare, I’m not sure if anyone would be interested...

Thai Basil Pesto

I’m a huge fan of pesto sauce. Pesto originated from Northern Italy, Genoa to be precise. Traditionally, it is made with sweet basil leaves, crushed garlic, pine nuts, parmigiana-reggiano (parmesan cheese) and lots of good quality olive oil. Besides basil pesto, you might have come across other versions i.e. sun-dried tomato, anchovies, pistachio, etc...

Pad Thai Sauce

Besides using fresh ingredients, I believe the essence of a good Pad Thai is in its sauce. Best of all, it requires only 4 ingredients (minus the msg and other preservatives found in the readymade version)!...

Japanese Goma Dressing

Few weeks ago, Sis brought our Dad for some shopping therapy and they ended with dinner at a Japanese restaurant in town. Ever since, Dad has been raving about this “salad with special sauce”, where he cleaned up two bowls of it at a go. Now, Dad has never been a fan of salad (In fact, who is? Unless we are on a diet...okok I speak for myself only) so I was really curious to what kind of sorcery the chef performed on that salad...

Homemade Pomodoro Sauce

So hubby texted me a few days ago: “The SAUCES recipe index on your blog looks very sad.” Immediately, I was hit by a sense of guilt. Couple of months ago, he bought half a dozen of mason jars for me as I had ambitious plans on making different kind of pasta sauces which I could store in the fridge and use them to whip up quick meals. He is a huge fan of tomato based sauces. I guess I’ve conveniently locked those plans far far away in my memory bank...
