With the rising trend of organic food and clean eating, I was pretty excited to be introduced to Kitchen by Food Rebel.
Located at 28 Stanley Street (Telok Ayer Area), I could already anticipate the high turnover from the CBD lunch crowd.
Mention clean eating and the no. 1 food item that pops into (almost) everyone’s mind is salad. At Kitchen by Food Rebel, besides their attractive organic multi-color salads, this hipster café cum bistro joint offers a variety of nutrient-dense Buddha bowls, 100% Austrian wheat floured sandwiches and even Asian inspired hot meals.
The menu was conceptualized by Owner and Health Coach, Elika Mather and Head Chef, Yuliya Tyschenko. Being plagued by a bout of ill-health conditions, Elika decided to transform her lifestyle and head towards the holistic style of living.
Boasting the promise of NO MSG and artificial preservative in their food, the ingredients are largely organic, hormone-free and sustainable or locally sourced, which translate into fresher produce.
The pricing on the menu is slightly higher than your average lunch deals, but at least I know I won’t be sloshed by a bowl of MSG laden food. After such a huge meal (yes, I couldn’t resist stuffing myself), I actually did not suffer from any of the after-lunch fatigue I would normally get.
Oh in case you are wondering, yes they do serve breakfast from 8:00 am to 10:30 am.
If you are a coffee lover, don’t miss out on ordering a cuppa of their artisan roasted coffee.
The 100% Arabica beans are specially roasted in Singapore by Singapore based company Nomad The Gallant.
