Known internationally for their 18 intricate fold xiao long bao, Din Tai Fung needs no introduction when it comes to their sumptuous line-up of authentic Taiwanese food.

Last week, I attended a Media Culinary Workshop, to celebrate the launch of exclusive Taiwan sauces – Premium XO Sauce ($33.90), Fragrant Chilli Sauce* ($11) and Taiwan Chilli Oil* ($11).

Made with high quality ingredients, with no preservatives and trans-fat free, they are the perfect condiment to spice any meal.

Executive Chef, Master Chen Gang gave a live demonstration on the making of their most sought after XO Sauce Fried Rice with Bonito Flakes and Shredded Chicken with Spicy Dressing. I had a ball of a time getting hands on replicating this delectable starter.

In order to sample the exquisite flavors from the sauces, we mixed them with some plain rice. A medley of savoury, spicy and sweet layers of spices danced in my mouth.

The Premium XO Sauce was simply one of the best XO sauce I’ve ever tasted. I could actually eat it on its own (if no one was looking). The quality of dried scallops present in the sauce really shone through.

Besides the culinary excellence, I also noted that the service was beyond anything one would expect in Singapore. Throughout the whole event, the service was impeccable the service staff were warm and attentive. I’m not sure if it was just this outlet at The Centrepoint, but I’ll definitely be going back again very soon.
